Z1's Upgraded 350Z and G35 Compression Rods feature a pair of our Hybrid Monoball Compression Rod Bushings pre-pressed into Hayaku Compression Rods. Purchasing upgraded compression rods decreases installation time by providing a brand-new, fully assembled arm.

Why upgrade your compression rods?

Your car's factory compression rod bushings are manufactured from rubber with a bonded steel sleeve. When your car is lowered, these bushings are pushed past their intended range of motion, resulting in accelerated bushing wear and noise. Z1 Monoball Compression Rod Bushings are designed for stock height and lowered cars, offering a greater range of motion than stock-style bushings. Their monoball design allows them to rotate as the suspension articulates, providing a long service life and smoother operation. In addition to increased lifespan, you'll notice a positive increase in steering response, feedback, and feel. 

Hybrid Monoball Construction

These bushings are a departure from typical monoball construction and focus on providing similar performance improvements as all-metal spherical bushing with reduced harshness and noise.

Rather than having a metal outer race, hybrid monoball bushings use Delrin to dampen chassis and road vibrations. The Delrin core absorbs some of the shock load upon impact, reducing vibrations felt in the chassis. The end result is a car that gains positive feedback, steering response, and driver feel without the harsh feel that full metal bushings provide. On the top and bottom of the bushing, neoprene rubber boots are used to keep dirt, dust, debris, and moisture out of the joint.
