Benefits of Buying Z1 products from Tarmac Sportz
Z1's Hybrid Monoball Compression Rod Bushings replace your 350Z or G35's factory rubber bushings with a durable performance-focused solution. By installing Z1 Monoball bushings, you'll notice a positive increase in steering response, feedback, and feel without the uncomfortable feeling that comes from spherical or all-metal bushings.
Why replace with aftermarket?
Your car's factory compression rod bushings are manufactured from rubber with a bonded steel sleeve. These bushings are designed to flex as the suspension articulates and are considered a high-wear part, however, when your car is lowered the compression rods are pushed past their intended range of motion. This results in accelerated bushing wear.
Z1 Monoball Compression Rod Bushings are designed for stock height and lowered cars, offering a greater range of motion than stock-style bushings. Their monoball design allows them to rotate as the suspension articulates, providing a long service life and smoother operation.
Why hybrid monoball?
There are three types of aftermarket compression rod bushings available for your Z/G;
Hybrid Monoball Construction
Z1's Monoball Bushing comes to you in a ready-to-install assembly, complete with an installation tool. This allows the installer to press the bushing into the arm without damaging the monoball core. When installed, the bushing depth is set by a machined collar on the body, preventing the installer from pressing the bushing too far through the arm. A retaining ring is then installed on the opposing side, locking the bushing in place from both sides.
The body and ball shaft of the bushing are manufactured from 6061 aluminum for high durability and corrosion resistance. A Delrin core provides the bearing surface for the monoball, absorbing some chassis vibrations while allowing a reasonable increase in response, feedback, and feel. On the top and bottom of the bushing, neoprene rubber boots are used to keep dirt, dust, debris, and moisture out of the joint. *Because the bushing must be pressed into the arm before the boosts are installed, dust boots and clips will not be in place when the bushings are shipped. This step is to be completed by the installer.
