Our R&D team engineered and dyno tested more than 50 variations before identifying this design as the best solution available for the VQ37 engine.
The Gen 3 intake has a radically updated design that provides dramatically better power than any intake on the market for the VQ37 equipped vehicles. It features an integrated system of variable diameter tubing and steps to maximize air velocity, including additional polished tubes that pass through the front core support.
TWO FILTERS ARE BETTER THAN ONE
The new Ultra Long Tube Cold Air Intake places two large air filters in front of the radiator. This strategic placement of the filters allow for optimum cold air flow and easy filter access and removal for cleaning. On some applications such as the G37, urethane splash guards are included in the kit to help protect the filters.

The reality is much more complicated. Each STILLEN high flow cold air intake kit can take months of design and testing to perfect. In some cases we’ve produced more than 50 prototype variants before finalizing a design! Most STILLEN air intake kits are 50 state legal, adding more layers of testing and approvals to attain CARB exempt status.
Think of it this way: we’ve done the hard work so you don’t have to.
DRY FILTERS VS. OILED FILTERS
Year after year, the debate rages on:
“Dry filters are easy to maintain than oiled filters.”
“Yeah, but oiled filters offer better filtration than dry filters.”
“Yeah, well, oiled filters will contaminate your MAF sensor”.
Let STILLEN filter out the noise for you: both types of filters work very well, and far better than cheap OEM panel filters. These days filter technology has come so far and is so good that it really comes down to user/owner preference.
Oiled filters will not damage your MAF sensor. K&N Engineering was the first company to employ oiled filters in their intake designs. They have tested their oiled filters for decades and continue to test their filters and oils against the latest technology coming out from the OE’s. Every time they test their products they find that there is no damage being done to electronic components or engine internals caused by their oils.
If you still feel unsure about using an oiled filter, simply select the dry filter option for your STILLEN air intake kit. As an added benefit, a dry filter is slightly easier to clean and maintain.
Each STILLEN High Flow Air Intake kit includes high quality K&N cone filter(s) or AEM dry filter(s) on select kits.
Note that the high flow design increases the volume of engine note both inside and outside the cabin. Performance-minded enthusiasts typically find the authoritative note of a high flow air intake pleasing.
Most STILLEN High Flow Intakes are CARB Exempt. Others are currently CARB Pending, and may not be 50 state legal until exempt. Clean your filter regularly for best results.
Recommended installation requires removal of the front fascia clip (not absolutely necessary for some vehicles, but significantly aids in ease of installation) and slightly enlarging the holes through the front core support. No other parts relocation or removal is required.
